Refuge

The most vulnerable times of the day occur at night.

We tend to link uncertainty with everything when we are blinded by the light. What if something was changed for good? What would happen if we slept through the very following morning? Could this really be the longest night ever?

At that point, we attempt to condense our cosmos.
We might condense it into a late-night phone chat with a close friend. A four-hour conversation with someone we adore. A movie that lets us feel at ease. In the distance, a familiar tune is playing.

We can be vulnerable in this small world when we are around people or things we can safely trust. This small world is subject to change, just like the larger world beyond. It is worth celebrating often because although people, music, and movies come and go, there is one thing that endures—something that is genuine and honest—that supports us in our moments of weakness and attempts to help us stay afloat in the vast, blue universe.
It's you.

All of your pleasant memories of them come flooding back to you, including the times you were in the middle of a conversation and noticed little details, the times you laughed at something that was only hilarious when shared with someone else, the odd locations you visited, and the odd emotions you experienced—that don't feel so odd when you're with them.

Sharing the present moment with someone is how you envision creating memories for the future while you are missing them. Knowing everything they adore—knowing everything they like, whether they prefer lettuce on their sub, binge-watching an F.R.I.E.N.D.S. episode numerous times, or strolling down their favorite lane.

Traveling through time steals your present, makes you forget that you need to get up early for work, that you still have other messages to respond to, and that it appears to be a pricey ticket.

The thing that makes a voyage worthwhile to remember is not what we spend, but rather who we spend it on.

KEEP SMILING!!
